This is my second blog and is the
product of my moving to a new city far away from home. I got married to my
college love in 2012, and promptly moved to Baltimore, Maryland for my husband’s Residency program – where we spent
our first year of marriage. In part, this blog was merely something for me to
do, after leaving my friends and social life behind in South Carolina. Over time it has become a place for me to
share my viewpoints, and my life as a means to connect with my audience. Moving
to a place so close to Washington had always been a dream of mine, as D.C. is
one of my favorite cities. It is the
culmination of history, politics, beauty, culture, and White House Fashion
Icons (I’m speaking of Jackie here, I don’t really acknowledge any other FLOTUS
in the same manner). I know Jackie wasn’t
southern, but she might as well have been. Big hair, impeccable clothing,
always pleasant and genial, pearls, and the nexus of a political empire. In South Carolina, this persona was the norm for
me. I didn’t have to even think about it. After all, who doesn’t wear pearls on
a daily basis?? Needless to say, I most definitely stood out amongst my
surroundings. It’s hard being a Jackie, in a post-Bravo America. I created this
blog as a way to celebrate who I was, and the fact that I was seemingly so
different from the rest of the people around me. It is my hope that when you
stop by my blog you learn about current events, entertaining, homemaking,
interesting places to visit, or even something as simple as the latest trend in
fashion. We have since moved to sunny
South Florida, where once again, I find myself the small fish in the very large,
very tropical pond. Florida is a melting pot of cultures, and people. Now more
than ever I am learning who I am, that’s it’s ok to stand out, and you can
never really go wrong if Jackie is your muse.

Oh my gosh such sweet photos! And you know what? I've come to learn that sticking out isn't always a bad thing, especially when it comes to a level of class. I think it's great that you channel your inner Jackie! Wonderful blog, lovely, and I can't wait to follow along!
